Resident advisor forced app install
I went to an event last night that used RA for ticketing and it was a complete meltdown at the door. With so many people in the normally industrial area the cell towers overloaded, I guess with people trying to download the app, and nobody could get in. There was a queue around the block. Eventually the promoters gave up and just started letting people in.
I ***HATE*** that they're holding my tickets hostage behind installing an app! I don't want another app on my phone! The app's permissions are totally excessive, and I'd rather not be tracked, have my data collected, and then passed on to who knows. But I have no choice if I want to attend the gig I already paid hundreds of dollars to attend.
Forcing guests to download and log in to an app at the doors is a joke, and a privacy nightmare. Just send me a PDF with the QR code like every other platform thanks.
