Heat pump dryer bypass to use my AC heater instead.
Currently early winter where I live was about to buy a heat pump dryer for $700. I usually do 3-4 loads at dryers during winter for $4 each which gives about 28 mins the dryer at laundromet.
But instead of this I decided to use my reverse cycle air conditioner and my indoor clothes line thing.
I would run it during the day when my solar panels are generating some power and at night after peak electicity periods which cost $0.18 a kilowatt hour.
My AC heater uses about 600-800 watts an hour which would warm my house as well as drying my clothes.
I usually try to dry clothes outside first then bring to laundromat dryers to save a few dollars but now I will get it done for free or even lower cost. As I can run my AC for hours using $4.
