I live in the Philippines, And BOI... is it so uncomfortably sticky and hot. At night its not a major problem, i even sometimes put my electric fan to push air out the window, close my door so that the only air that comes in my room is the air from outside. although i usually just use the AC when i sleep.
So got curious about how to make AC's electric efficient, i tried Chatgpt to get some idea about it but it feels like its misleading. Not that Chargpt is wrong but rather what Chatgpt gets the information from. electricity companies often say 24-26 degrees is the most "efficient" temp range as it lets the AC run more stable without having to turn off and turn on repeatedly. but that just doesn't sound right. 28-30 degrees for me is totally comfortable enough, especially if its dehumidified as i run the electric fan with the AC.
So ive come here to ask some people who might know better about AC
Questions: 1. How to calculate electricity cost accurately? The ones i know just calculates the size of room and the HP of the AC. dude i really know theres more significant factors to this like the outside temperature
2. Does never turning your AC actually be more efficient? \-i know the answer depends, but it would be nice to generally know when its more efficient and when it is not
3. Why are larger AC's less electricity efficient? \-I read that large AC's consume alot more electricity than small AC's, Yes that makes sense. but what if the room they were in are the same? what if the small AC and a large AC does the same job? This one is relevant to me because my mother bought me a 1.5hp window inverter for my really small room 3x3 meters (maybe 4x4) but its pretty small considering i also have furniture like cabinets. When a 1 hp could be more efficient.
