Struggling to improve with UI design
I'm having trouble improving my ability to design good UIs. I've been doing web dev for years and can program sites easily enough when given a screenshot of a design. But working on my own projects, I just get completely lost.
I know what functionality I need and what data I need to show, I just struggle knowing the best way to convey it. I've spent hours in Figma tossing up different designs and just get lost. I'm working on a V2 for a sports club management site. I've tried tools like Google Stitch and Figma Make to get some inspiration but they all come out useless.
I don't really know where to go from here. I don't have any budget to hire a UI designer as this is a hobby project.
Does anyone have advice?
