T he Ashes, England v Australia LIVE | Green the man for Finchy

By Zachary Gates13:10

The man set to drive the Aussies if they are to win this match is Cameron Green, according to Aaron Finch.

"I think the right-hander against the off spin of the English bowers — got out to off spin in the first innings, but a small tactical tweak, I think, will allow him to open up both sides of the ground on a wicket that is starting to turn," Finch said on Nine's coverage.
"Once he gets in he scores so fast, front and back foot. These boundaries won't be given up if he decides to take the attack to them.

"So for me I think it's a great opportunity for Cameron Green to stand up in his first Ashes Test in England and make a huge name for himself, even more than what he already has."

The Ashes, England v Australia LIVE | Play update
By Zachary Gates12:04

It's Zachary Gates jumping in the live blog for the remainder of day five — and a wet day it is!

Some of the covers have been removed at Edgbaston, and the umpires will do an official inspection of the pitch and outfield at 10.20pm (AEST).

There's now a glimmer of sunshine just down the road in Wolverhampton.

An early lunch was taken.

The Ashes, England v Australia LIVE | How wet has it been?

About this wet.

The super sopper absorbs the water, and a roller on top of the sponge squeezes it into a tank.

When the tank is full, it's emptied like this.

The Ashes, England v Australia LIVE | Play officially delayed
By Damien McCartney09:59

The start of play has officially been delayed at Edgbaston, and it's not great news.

The morning session has been canned, and there will be no play before lunch, which will be taken a half-hour earlier than normal.

The 40-minute lunchbreak will be taken at 12.30pm local time (that's 9.30pm AEST), so there will be no play before 10.10pm AEST at the earliest.

We'll keep you updated.
