Has anyone on here moved out of their hometown in search for better opportunities and had to live in their vehicle in order to pursue that goal?

So recently it's been becoming more and more clear to me that the hometown I stay in does not align with who I am and what I enjoy doing. Jobs are plentiful here, and the state has a low cost of living (KY), but over the years it seems like my hometown is moving to a more industrial zone and is becoming more and more populated. I don't exactly know what I want to do with my life career–wise, but I enjoy being out in nature and like the outdoors. I have thought more and more of trying to find a job as some type of park ranger or wilderness related; it may sound picky, but I want a job where I am in the Backcountry mostly rather than just a state park but I don't know what opportunities are out there. Where I live, we hardly have hiking trails or wilderness like that and so I am thinking of moving somewhere that has more of that. Montana, Wyoming, West Virginia, Vermont, Washington to name a few. I love mountains.

I don't make much at my current job and I still live at home, even with 2 jobs I am hardly able to afford rent plus groceries, gas, and other necessities; so I know I will have to live in my vehicle if I am going to pursue this goal since most of their states are much higher in terms of living. I don't mind the idea of living in a care, I have a van (Chevy Astro); but the summers is what I worry about, being too hot inside the van and also finding a place to stay every night and not be hounded by the cops. What happens if a cop finds you living in your van? Do you go to jail, have to pay a citation? I guess what I'm looking for with this post is anyone who has done something similar or can offer any advice; I can't stay in my hometown any longer, I don't like it here and feel stuck here with nothing to do. It may sound immature or selfish to some, but I can't imagine working 40 years in a town you don't like that has nothing you enjoy doing and have no flexibility or life outside work, I want to be able to hike national parks and backpack and find new interesting places, I don't want to waste my life doing something I don't want to do for the sake of family and societal expectations; I feel like I am too young for my life to be over with being held down (25 years old).

Have you done something similar? What advice do you have if you have done something similar?

Thank you for your time.
