Landlord wants full deposit plus additional several thousand euros after moving out – is this normal in Germany?
hi everyone, we are leaving our rental apartment and our landlord ask us to give all the caution+ plus some thousend euros. we used everything very good. there are small scratches in the floor and then want to renew the whole floor because they say otherwise they will be in different colours. also they will make us the painting for whole house. there are small things only, only minor things but thats Okey. they also want to paint the door frames as well. and change some doors. they will take all money from us. they are asking us how much more we want to pay additional to the kaution. we didn't say anything yet to them. but is this normal? this is first time we are moving out of an apartment so we don't know the process but i have never heard of taking all caution plus more money. please help me what I can do, i was expecting maybe a rent we can pay more. but this is unacceptable. the apartment is in very good condition
