Help needed: Opportunity Card → Full-time work permit in Essen
Hi everyone,
I’m hoping someone here can help or share advice.
I arrived in Germany on December 10 and only managed to complete my Anmeldung on January 29 in Essen after a long wait. I am a chef on an Opportunity Card, currently limited to 20 hours per week, but I now have a full-time (40h) job contract.
My employer is opening a new restaurant on February 19, and my joining date is February 15, with March 1 as the last possible date. All documents are ready, but the Welcome & Service Center Essen is not responding to emails or calls, and even visiting in person didn’t help.
If anyone knows how to get an appointment faster, a working contact, or has been through a similar situation in Essen, I’d really appreciate your help 🙏
