I recently bought 2 slip-on cans for my Suzuki sv1000s that has stock bolt-on mufflers. They are SC Project shorty cans with hooked springs. I know my Suzuki technically does not accommodate a slip-on, but I don't want to start chopping at my exhaust that has been meticulously maintained and taken good care of for the last 20 years.
Should I get a small midpipe and then just secure the muffler to the other side of the bolt assembly, or is this not a feasible project without chopping off the bolt assembly? #motorcycles source
