A reading from the Gospel of Matthew 14:13:21
REFLECTION:
The feeding of the five thousand reminds us that whether the miracle came through Godβs supernatural provision or by inspiring people to share what they had, the result was the same: everyone was fed. The disciples saw only scarcity, but Jesus saw possibility. When they placed their little into His hands, it became enough. This passage challenges us to move from a mindset of lack to one of generosity, trusting that God can use whatever we willingly offer. It also reminds us that Godβs kingdom is built on sharing, hospitality, and caring for one another.
DO:
Part of the problem with how giving is done in our society today, is that it has become a cold and disconnected act. We toss a few coins to people with whom we have no relationship, and no desire to connect. Or we place an offering in a bag with no awareness of where our money may go. New Testament giving is all about building relationships in which we all share what we have with one another. Today , try to give as generously as you can to others, but also try to connect with them as human beings who are loved by God.
PRAY:
As I give ,O God , I seek to share not just my resources, but myself ππΌ
