There is allot of criticism for the current method of selecting the candidates, and world champion format.

No doubt that Gukesh and Ding are among the best players in chess history, but, are they the strongest chess players in the world after Magnus?
The current format of the candidates and world champion doesn't appear to be effective in actually showing the best player in chess.
