NGC 6960 – The Filamentary Nebula

This pretty nebula is part of the overall Veil Nebula complex and as such the overall Cygnus Loop. Perhaps more recognisable than its eastern sibling, NGC 6992 / 6995. It is known for its delicate whisps of gas flowing in front of a bright star.


Taken from my backyard in Bortle 7 sky conditions 

Telescope: WO Zenitstar 80ED / focal length 575mm

Camera:  ASI 183MM Pro

Exposures: Ha = 30 x 300 sec / OIII = 30 x 300 sec / SII = 30 x 300 sec / total = 7.5 hours.
