wouPhotographers: what movies do you think are essential cinematographical viewing for photographers?
For me, if I had a 1 to 10 list, 1-9 would probably be Koyaanisqatsi over and over again. The shot compositions, visual and temporal compression, the use of pure imagery (and music) to tell a story. Ron Fricke was some sort of cinematic savant.
ld be all the Kubrick movies. Barry Lyndon, A Clockwork Orange, 2001 — the way shots are composed are on another level.
