Hello! I'm a junior photographer specializing in editorial fashion and concerts based. I graduated from college about two years ago and I've been trying to find a job in the industry and so far I've been pretty much rejected/ghosted from every opportunity I find.
I've been told all my life that my city is the creative avenue and you'll always find an opportunity in any creative space but so far it's been proven to be the complete opposite. I've applied to so many places and I've no success at all. I've cold called and cold emailed photographers, agencies, basically everyone under the sun and it's crickets on their end. I did get a hold of one agency and was told to send them my portfolio via email and they'd give me a portfolio review to see what I can improve on but I haven't gotten anything since. I've also been to a few networking events and even those pretty much did nothing for me.
I'm super passionate about photography but I feel that I picked a terrible career to pursue. I could go back to school to study something that will guarantee a good future but I don't even have enough money to go back to school so I'm pretty much in the worst situation I could be in.
Not really sure what to do so I'm asking for advice on what I can do at this point. #hobby source
