I've always been convinced that we are the masters of our own destiny, we are our choices.
However, ever since I was a little girl, I've always wondered: why do we choose one thing and not another? What influences our choices? I always thought there was a divine being manipulating our choices. But my Cartesian side wasn't satisfied with this belief. After several years of questioning, I received the answers. ✔️
We are our choices, and our choices are influenced by our DNA. According to scientific research, our family tree explains some of our fears, choices and even our hang-ups.
Family secrets, things left unsaid, unresolved family conflicts, unresolved mourning, injustices, traumas, uprootedness.....anything left unfinished, anything left undigested, or anything not properly expressed or verbalized by forebears can erupt and impact on subsequent generations. ✔️
All this can have a profound impact on the psychology and development of individuals, and is studied in fields such as psychology, sociology and genetics.
But fear not, because according to Boris Cyrulnik, nothing is ever ruined. We can always escape from programmed misfortune.
