NexStar+ Hand Controller USB not recognized on Windows 11

Hey everyone,
I'm having a total nightmare trying to connect my Celestron NexStar 6SE to my PC, and I’m hoping someone here has figured out a solid workaround.
I have the newer NexStar+ Hand Controller with the built-in Mini-USB port at the bottom. Every time I plug it into my Windows 11 PC to use CPWI or Stellarium, Device Manager throws a Code 10 (Device cannot start) error under Ports (COM & LPT), or identifies it as an "Unknown USB Device".
I know the core issue is the internal Prolific PL2303 USB-to-Serial chip inside the handset and how aggressively modern Windows updates block/overwrite the legacy Prolific drivers due to signature/security enforcement.
Every time I try to force-install an older working driver (like v3.3.2.102), Windows instantly overrides it or refuses to run it altogether.
Has anyone with the USB-native Hand Controller found a reliable way to solve this on Windows 11 without having the OS break it every time there’s a system update? Is my only option at this point to ditch the HC USB port entirely and go with a 3rd party Wi-Fi/Bluetooth adapter straight to the mount?
Thanks
