Ever since, San Juan City looks up to Navotas for effective flood control system
Nitong mga nakaraan ay nagpakitang-gilas ang mga pumping station, flood gate at coastal dike ng Navotas sa gitna ng sunod-sunod na ulan at sinasabayan pa ng high tide. And as we all saw, hindi lumubog sa baha ang Navotas habang ang lahat sa Metro Manila ay naging dagat.
It took years for Navotas LGU to build this system, and it bears fruit. What surprises many is when Senator JV Ejercito, a former mayor of San Juan City, made a statement that he replicated the Navotas model to his city's flood control plans. At tulad nga ng sabi ni JV. it worked, and he gave credit where credit is due.
Navotas has a unique geographical situation, but despite that, it manages to brave its longtime problem and now succeeding. Baka panahon na para matuto tayo sa maliit na siyudad na ito.
