Been living here for 3 years. Needed to change my phone contract. Read somewhere that check24 offers good promotions. Look through the options - good, Telekom contract with a cashback and reduced rate for 2 years, can fill out my credentials and get an e-sim. First mistake was me forgetting for a moment in which country I now live and assuming that in 2026 a link for e-sim will be sent through e-mail, and this will take just 10 minutes. First two days there was total silence, and then I receive an e-mail saying that my e-sim was sent with DHL. Perfect.
I wait for a few more more days and get a DHL letter with an e-sim QR code. It doesn't work. After waiting for four days for a thing that should be done in 10 minutes, I get a paper letter with a QR code that just says it's invalid. Amazing.
And now after I went to Telekom office (which I wished to avoid doing in the first place in 2026), I learned that it can't be reissued through them for whatever reason, go to check24 with your problem. Even though I have a customer number, a letter with Telekom-issued e-sim and all my documents to verify my identity. Just not possible. To avoid trying to use check24 customer support and waiting another business week for another DHL letter, I had to just cancel the first "contract" on the spot and get a new one with a worse rate without a promotion. Surprisingly, that took the aforementioned 10 minutes.
