GOSPEL VERSE AND REFLECTION!
Jesus denounces the scribes and Pharisees: they preach but do not practice. They impose heavy burdens on others without lifting a finger to help. They love places of honor and the greeting "Rabbi." But Jesus teaches: "The greatest among you must be your servant. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled."
Humility is not weakness or false modesty—it is the truth about who we are before God. Recognizing that everything we have and are is God's gift frees us from pretension and opens us to grace. Christ, though God, made Himself servant of all.
Examine whether there is hidden pride in your heart: a desire for recognition, a need for approval, difficulty serving without being noticed. Ask for the grace of humility—the kind that exalts before God because it empties before men.
🙏PRAYER 🙏
Lord of perfect humility, teach me to imitate Your humility. Help me live sacrificially for others, knowing that whoever humbles himself will be exalted in Your Kingdom.
Jesus, I trust in You. AMEN.
