Why pay taxes?
I know this may sound controversial but the main reason a government taxes you is to collect funds to ultimately help YOU. In a shithole like Pakistan, I don't get why anyone outside of a few areas (lahore, Islamabad etc) would pay taxes.
I know one counter argument can be that it's wrong because you're further reducing the funds the government gets to work with. However, what's the point? From 2015 to 2025, the tax revenue increased from 3 trillion PKR to 13 trillion PKR (more than 400%) but what has improved?
One thing to clarify: I'm not against giving back to society. I just think tax system isn't the way to do it in a country like Pakistan. This is something every Pakistani can do to boycott this regime and I genuinely think they should.
