Most resoleable boots should be considered buy it for life
Most boots, laceups ones especially, the only part that really wears out is the sole (if it fits your foot properly, if you are wearing holes in it you likely need a different size or shape).
You don’t need a $800 pair of hand made boots for it to be BIFL, you can get a basic pair of Wolverines that will last just as long and be just as serviceable. I’ve had this particular pair re soled about 10 times since I bought them in 2005, and that’s wearing them every day to work. If you take care of your boots (oil them, clean them), they will take care of you.
