No new board game purchases in 2026
I set this challenge for 2026: no new board games.
In part to better enjoy what I hauled in years, in part to keep budget at bay, I expected this to be harder.
Looking back, I bought a couple of games due to FOMO and I feared it would set me to lose the challenge.
But in reality I found myself quite impermeable to deals, promos, and the so called *cult of the new.*
Got a lot of promo mails in my inbox, which I have always trashed with no second thoughts. I have also visited some stores but always got out empty handed.
At first I was telling myself to behave, now I am 8 months in, I became quite *distant.*
Don’t get this wrong, I am still excited by board games, I still watch videos and read articles but I am living my hobby in a quieter way.
I have a short list of games I might consider in the future but I probably will adopt a *one in one out* approach, we’ll see…
