How do parrots pronounce sounds that are articulated with lips or teeth? I was remembering my ex’s parrot, an African grey. He could say my name (Maria, the r is an alveolar tap) perfectly. As far as I know they don’t have the anatomy for that, how do they do it? Not sure whether to flag this as biology or linguistics.
