What's the best way to build a user upload system? Without a user system?
This will be for a file sharing website, that users can download free icons.
I got everything built mostly for my website. Now comes the user submissions part . I don't want to deal with users and users account. There's a whole layer of knowledge that I don't comprehend yet with that.
Are there Saas that would make this easier? My main issue is....
1. Malicious files or atleast the threat of it.
My plan of attack was to get everything automated after the user submits the file or files.
1. User upload to R2 cloudflare to stage and isolate. I set hard limits/rules for the uploading part.
2. Workers pull the files from R2 to my podman container to do a full virus scan and other tools. Or I use some Saas to do the virus scanning.
3. It deletes if bad. If good, I keep and move to another server, where it will live. Cloudflare will serve as an EDGE cdn. Files are on my server, 90% hit rate with some earlier tests that I done.
4. My headless cms, after I review and approve adds it into the db. I get an AI to create titles, meta descriptions, add tags, categories etc.
5. Profit?
I am missing a lot of details, but I promise there is a lot more there. But I just wanted to know what some people are doing for this type of stuff? Do I nuke my plan? What are other people doing?
