The Nazca Lines: one of the most puzzling mysteries on Earth
Located in the arid desert of Peru, about 250 miles south of the capital, Lima, these gigantic lines date back 2,000 years. They consist of 800 straight lines, some stretching up to 30 miles in length. Accompanying them are intricate geometric patterns, along with 70 designs of animals and plants, depicting figures from spiders and hummingbirds to monkeys and whales. These figures reach up to 1,200 feet in length, including a mythical creature depicted at 98 feet long. To this day, no one knows who created these astonishing lines or their purpose.
