Returning Player First Week of m+ as DPS - Summary
700 iLvl destro lock, returned to WoW ~ 1 month ago. Competitive raider a decade ago, I was intrigued by m+ yet hesitant to start based on all the noise on here, especially towards dps not finding groups.
In my first week my rating is ~1220, best is Eco Dome +8 (I did decent damage/interrupts/aoe stuns but candidly got carried on the last boss, not finding my clone quick enough).
Did a +6 gambit where I was basically equal to the other 2 hunters (flawless run, as best I can tell). Felt really good.
Just failed a +9 gambit where I was just behind the DK in damage, but the feral tank apparently didn’t know to kill dragon adds via breath, so we voted to end it. I had as much fun in that as the others, from a learning perspective (even made friends with the DK).
Obviously not a brag, but more of a thank you to the groups taking a chance on someone with little/no track record.
And to my fellow DPS - keep applying and don’t take things personally. Be humble, willing to learn and own your mistakes.
Now, to run that first +10 for vault before reset!
