My Wacky PC Ride. So, I was born a console kid back in…

My Wacky PC Ride.

So, I was born a console kid back in 1993. I grew up with a sega controller in one hand and Hanna Barbara Scooby-Doo on the TV. Growing up I ended up stealing my first system from my cousin's. (They were like 8. I was 12 or 13 at the time) They ended up using the games as throwing disks. Shatter the 3rd disc of Final Fantasy 7 before I could play it. Sad times.

Anyway fast forward to my early 20's I picked up a Xotic pre-built and never really looked back. After years of fighting and scraping together I had my Rig.

A 5800X3D with 8gb of ram and a 970. It wasn't much but it did the trick. Now as of 2020 my rig has evolved to a 7800X3D with 64gb of ram and 4080 Super.

So in the beginning it was a hectic road trying to configure this that and the other and I ended up fighting frequent 1%fps dips that seemed mythical and frequent. I tried everything under the sun. Bios changes down to the smallest detail. XMP on or off with tuned values to graphics card vbios flashing (really scary thing).

After swapping tons of parts and time and more importantly money. I can state that in my entire 4 years troubleshooting I was bested by a 14$ dollar part.

TL:DR The thing that was hindering my 1%fps on my PC was a non certified Vesa Display port cable. To be fair I did check on Amazon and it said it was Vesa Certified but it wasn't the same one. The one I bought was an older version. So if this helps anyone else your welcome and if anyone reads this whole thing thank you for following along. Have a great day.
