I'm reading again the first two Dune books in preparation for the Part Three movie, and this quote from Paul in the appendix of the first novel got me, because I don't think I fully understand its meaning.
*"Law and duty are one; so be it. But remember these limitations—Thus are you never fully self-conscious. Thus do you remain immersed in the communal tau. Thus are you always less than an individual."*
Does that mean that Muad'Dib was against individuality? Or he was talking the opposite here, that people should remember the limitations because they needed to act like law and duty \*weren't\* one? #entertainment
