The stories of humans gone by far beyond time immemorial.
IE in the homo genus, so Heidelbergensis counts. A book set in the Ice Age as we typically use that word today would obviously count for being old, but it would be quite interesting to me to see something set in previous glacial maxima and the interglaciation periods too. Especially if it was set in area that is currently sitting underwater like much of the Caspian Sea, Beringia, the Persian Gulf, Sundaland, the land east of China (sorry Taiwan), the Yucatan which got much bigger in that period or Nova Scotia which was also much bigger, even Doggerland.
I've read books that discuss the ice age academically, especially the most recent one about 22 thousand years ago, but not as much about anything like a first hand story, even a fictional one, nor anything older than that.
