Grounding my inverter.
Putting together a renogy solar kit and I have a stupid question about my ground. I have a wire grounded to an unpainted surface of my van. But the end to connect to the inverter is just a bolt sticking out of the inverter. The bolt is not secure to the inside so if I unscrew all the bolts at the right angle it could fall in. The inverter also appears painted. Can I put the ground wire between the nuts? Or does it need to be flush with the inverter? Do I need to scrape the paint off? Not sure why they would make it where I would have to scrape the paint off though. Any advice is appreciated.
