Asking for personal experiences and examples. right now i’ve recently bought a miata, and will continue to mod it lightly but it will stay mostly stock, i will most likely end up selling it at the end of HS.
lately everyones been bugging me about my career, what im gonna do in the future, ect ect. Since 8th grade I’ve wanted to take a gap year, hitchhike and see the world. But with the job market and general state of the US I’m finding my future very bleak. I have no idea what I want to do for college. So I started researching van life. I love traveling, road trips, and automotive maintenance. my hobbies are all easy to do on the go (fpv drones and biking) and I could see myself building a van out for under 10k. I already have \~5k sitting in the form of the miata. I guess what I’m getting at is “Is it realistic to build a van over a gap year after HS and travel before starting a professional career?”
If its not my thing I can always head back home and just go to college. Im a firm believer in not limiting yourself according to age. #lifestyle source
