IC1396 - Elephant Trunk Nebula
I took this over 6 nights from my balcony in Paris, France with my new Askar FMA 180 Pro. The original image is wider but I decided to crop it quite a bit because I had a stubborn gradient from a street lamp that I couldn't get rid of 😅
Pretty happy with the results!
Equipment and acquisition:
\\- Askar FMA180 Pro
\\- ASI585MC Air
\\- Teseek 17
\\- Svbony 30mm + ASI120mm for guiding (with such narrowband filters and my Bortle 9 location the ASIAIR is almost useless)
\\- L-Ultimate filter: 281 x 180 sec (approx. 14h)
\\- Antlia ALP-T Dualband: 275 x 180 sec (approx. 13.8h)
\\- 30 darks, 30 flats for each filter, 30 bias
Processing (PI)
\\- WBPP, SetiAstro Auto DBE, blurX, noiseX, starX, DBXtract, then stretch each channel separately, SetiAstro Perfect Palette Picker, curves transformation with different range masks, enhance dark structures, final blurX and noise X
