Blue Peter is a British children's television entertainment programme created by John Hunter Blair. It is the longest-running children's TV show in the world, having been broadcast since October 1958.
The signature tune has always been a hornpipe, originally using variations of Barnacle Bill by Herbert Ashworth-Hope (not to be confused with the bawdy American drinking song Barnacle Bill the Sailor.) The original version of the theme was a recording by the New Century Orchestra issued by the FDH Mood Music library. From the 2008 series, the theme became a rendition of the similar Sailor's Hornpipe. However, from October 14, 2008, the tune has been a blend of both tunes.

I enjoy learning and wanted to be a school teacher; not only were my teachers good role models, or good people, they took the time and patience to educate us.
