For me, getting started with reading as a hobby stemmed from being read to as a child and developing an early fascination with diving into imaginary worlds and absorbing knowledge through the written word. As I engage with my NGO, this reading helps a lot to pass-it-on various information to the people that we serve through our charity. ( for info-my charity- WORD | http://www.wordorg.net)
Reading brings me a profound sense of enrichment, relaxation, and mental stimulation. Reading on various domains/ journal provides me an obvisous escape from daily stresses while exercising empathy, critical thinking, and imagination.
All my non-fiction reading opens new doors of learning about cultures, history, science, and the boundless topics that expand my understanding of the world.
Beyond the sheer enjoyment factor, reading provides cognitive benefits by strengthening vocabulary, comprehension, memory and concentration abilities. It's a lifelong pursuit that continues giving as I evolve and discover new literary genres and authors over time. For anyone interested in developing a reading hobby, my advice would be:
I stronlgy want to explore different genres to find the styles you most enjoy - fiction, non-fiction, classics, contemporary and so on.
