People need to work towards a greater goal/purpouse. Currently we are working just to maintain the status Quo. Thats why so many people are depressed and lethargic.
Building/Creating something. Working towards a greater goal/purpouse. The community coming together in hopes of a better future. This is something that humans need and that has driven human development and invention for Millenia.
Currently all we do is surviving. Preserving the status quo. If you are lucky enough to have enough money for a house/family all you do is just work to maintain them. If you are poor all you do is work to maintain the status quo and not become homeless.
There is no great "lets settle the plains" movement. No "lets work together to defeat/achieve X" movement. No great push to explore and colonize the Solar System.
Mt. Everest has been climed by like 100 000 people. So whats the point? The age of Exploration is over. No more pioneers. No more explorer. No more heroes. Just working and surviving to maintain the status quo. This is poison to the human psyche. Especially in the corporate environment.
