Compare Ace Hardware Prices, Each Store Sets Its Own
I needed some keys duplicated and have three Ace Hardware locations within about 15 minutes. The closest charges $5 per key, so I assumed the others were similar. Someone mentioned that the second location only charges $1, and it turned out to be a small mom‑and‑pop shop that partners with Ace but isn’t branded as Ace on the outside. An employee cut the keys for $1 each, and for seven keys, I paid just over $7 with tax. I checked the third location out of curiosity, and they were around $7 per key. 😬
I was the only one in the store, so I asked the cashier about the big price differences. She explained that each Ace is independently owned, so pricing varies by store. Just a reminder to compare a couple of locations, including the smaller partner shops, because the prices can be all over the place.
