Every day, I stack SATs — satoshis — with one goal in mind: building a legacy for my children and their future.
This isn’t really about me. I’ve already been working on building enough for my own retirement years, even though I honestly don’t see myself ever fully retiring. What I do know is that when I reach retirement age, I don’t plan on continuing to work just to make someone else wealthy.
I use a few different sites to keep adding to my SATs stack, little by little. Over time, those small amounts can add up.
What concerns me most is the future our children may inherit. We are already seeing more and more things move toward subscriptions, rentals, and ongoing payments. Homes, vehicles, entertainment, software, services — ownership seems to be slowly disappearing in many areas of life.
That is one of the reasons I started building a family legacy years ago. I want my children to have something behind them — something that gives them options, security, and a stronger foundation in a world that may become much harder financially.
For me, faith is also a major part of that outlook. I believe this world has become increasingly driven by greed, corruption, and evil, but I also believe that Jesus Christ will ultimately overcome Satan and the evil in this world.
The financial side of building a legacy can actually be fairly simple. The harder part may be teaching the next generation how to protect it.
People often say inherited money is easier to spend because you didn’t have to work for it. Money you earned through years of hard work usually carries a different value.
That is why I believe teaching our children financial responsibility is just as important as leaving them money.
Have you started building a family legacy for your children or future generations?
Have you taught your kids the value of money, saving, investing, and ownership?
And here’s the big question: if you believe the purchasing power of the dollar will continue to decline over time, what are you using to hedge against it?
For me, stacking SATs is one part of the plan.
