Trouble reading American Psycho
I'm about 80% through American Psycho, and while I'm really enjoying the social commentary and satirical portions of the book I'm really struggling with the torture scenes.
Quite specifically I've had to stop reading whenever he takes power tools to his victims, and now he brought the rat.
I don't know if I can keep reading as I'm starting to suspect the author genuinely enjoys the images they're painting.
I'd like to know if anyone else had these problems and if the book is "worth" powering the trauma I'm self inducing.
