Insulation advice from anyone in colder climates needed.
Hello all,
I'll be up front in saying that I am not really a vanlifer. I am buying some property fairly far north (Think Portland, Billings, Minneapolis type latitude) but I am building out a trailer to act as my mostly off-grid home for the foreseeable future.
One of my concerns at the moment is insulation, particularly ceiling insulation. Given the existing height of the structure that I am working with I have a relatively minimal space to insulate.
Does anyone have any long term experience in this environment? Am I going to be losing absurd amounts of heat from my roof, even if things are tightly air sealed? I'm genuinely starting to question if I should even be attempting to build in an enclosed trailer or if I should just go full trailer tiny-home for the extra verticality. #lifestyle source
