Why are people so afraid about wanting Minimum Wages to be…

Why are people so afraid about wanting Minimum Wages to be $25 or just higher overall?

I've been meaning to ask this for a few days now, but it's always baffled me as to why people have been so against the very notion of someone like this Senator in Connecticut wanting to actually do right by his citizens and actually give them more of a chance to actually get through life more easily with a higher hourly wage? Yet whenever I see this as more of a good thing and something that should've been made a thing for EVERY state, I keep seeing people in these comments sections in YouTube that keep seeing this as a BAD thing!

It's ridiculous in itself that one comment I saw mentions that upping the wages would result in everything being more expensive, but they seem to ignore the fact that they already are expensive to begin with thanks to these tariffs done by that fragile moronic president of ours. It just seems so asinine to think that people wanting to have a more sustainable living wage would result in things having a more opposing effect for everyone in the process.

Now I don't live in any of these states that have actually made that the standard minimum wage, but I'm one that believes that this wouldn't be something if a bad thing for many people.
