🌀 Hurricane Polo was moving west-northwest across the eastern Pacific on 24 September after strengthening into a major hurricane, with forecasts calling for it to approach Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula in the following days.

At 0300 UTC on 25 September, the U.S. National Hurricane Center placed the storm about 735 km south-southeast of Cabo San Lucas. Polo had maximum sustained winds of 150 mph (240 km/h) and a minimum central pressure of 935 mbar.

The hurricane’s earlier rainbands affected southwestern Mexico. A tropical-storm warning had covered the coast from Tecpan de Galeana to Manzanillo, and forecasters warned of heavy rain, flooding, landslides and hazardous seas. 🌧️

No coastal watches or warnings were in effect in the latest advisory, but the National Hurricane Center said interests in Baja California Sur should monitor Polo. Forecast tracks and intensity can change as the system moves north-westward.
