Should we be returning cans and bottles?
So my wife and I are having an argument. We collect used water bottles, aluminum cans and every 2-3 weeks I go to the local supermarket and redeem each bottle/can for 5 cents.
I just went and my wife doesn't want to hold onto the cans/bottle anymore. She says it's a waste of time for literally pennies. I tell her it is worth it, each trip is $10 and takes 10 minutes to put each bottle/can into the machine.
She says that the amount of time wasted is not worth it. I tell her that we use that $20 per month for desserts (ice cream) or give to my teenagers for allowances.
We have the space in our garage (3 car garage, plenty). We're not buying extra soda/water etc, just collecting for a family of 6 people (cans/bottles add up quick!).
