Living out of a minivan in a national forest - advice?

I (23F) have an old Honda Odyessey that I did a road trip in for a few months. It is minimally converted, and is essentially car camping. I settled down in a new town about 6 months ago and have an outdoor physical labor job. I have been in a sublease, but it ends in April. A few friends here have offered to rent me a room, but I always find it hard to justify spending my money on rent. I am very social, and am almost always out with friends, at work, or at the gym.
I felt happy being outdoors so much when I was traveling. I did dispersed camping, went to the bathroom in the woods, bought groceries as I needed them, hung out in the forest, and showered at gyms.
My plan is to travel more in November, and not having to pay rent would be a nice money saver.

Would this be sustainable for 7-8 months? What are the essentials and downsides of living in a minivan? Are you happy in your minimal build?
