fMy top 100 games after 1000 tracks plays and over six years of boardgaming!

Hey everyone!

I've recently hit 1000 plays after nearly three years of tracking plays on BG Stats! I wanted to commemorate the occasion by figuring out what my current top 100 games of all time are :) Hopefully there are some new or interesting games for you to check out or talk about!

Rank|Game|Notes
|:--|---|---|
100|**DOOM (2016)**|I love GMing roleplaying games and thus love 1vAll games. I don't have too many of those, actually, and Doom is my favorite :)
99|**The Warp**|A neat 4X where most actions are simultaneous, a bit like Empires of the Void. It's also a pretty fast 4X with high replayability thanks to the 16 alien factions. Well, I *think* it has a high replay value, we've only played it three times so far which is why I can't place it higher on my list.
98|**Shadowrift**|
97|**Riftforce**|I had to choose between this and Schotten Totten 2. I'm not sure I chose wisely, but I'd be happy to play either game anytime!
96|**Sidereal Confluence**|Might be higher as I have *loved* every single play, but in all my years I've only played it thrice... It's so hard to get to the table. Still, those emotional highs and lows have stayed with me and I can't wait for my next play (with Bifurcation!)
95|**Similo**|
94|**Sagani**|
93|**Project L**|
92|**Welcome To...**|We also have Welcome to the Moon, but some scenarios are hit and miss. Welcome To is consistently good!
91|**Ivion**|We only have one box with two fighters, but each match has been a real nailbiter! Your characters deal deceptively high damage. A good attack can remove nearly half of your HP! I think this game has a lot of potential, but we're still waiting for the second season boxes before moving it up or down. It'll be interesting to see if the game suffers from power creep :)
90|**So Clover**|This game might be leaving the top 100 soon. I used to think this game works every time, but there were some real dud sessions, esp. when someone gets huffy and upset that you don't understand their super obvious clues. Still, So Clover is a real joy to play with the right group.
89|**Just One**|
88|**Allegra**|Like Skyjo, but you can manipulate your neighbor's column and it influences both of your end-of-round scoring.
87|**Pictures**|It's my gf's mom's favorite game and it's a riot to play with her friends.
86|**Menara**|
85|**Clank!**|
84|**Aristeia!**|I have yet to play the 4p Prime Time expansion, but I really hope I get to play it this year!
83|**Roll Player**|
82|**Dice Forge**|Only good with the Rebellion expansion, otherwise it wouldn't even stay in my collection.
81|**Earth**|I know many people dislike Earth for being a complete point salad of a game, but that's what I like about it. Everything you do generates a ton of points and it's all about generating more points per turn than everyone else. Plus your compost deck can get ridiculously large lol.
80|**Top Ten**|
79|**Dead by Daylight**|A fun 1vAll game where it's hard to win as the 1!
78|**Dreamscape**|I love this game! I just wish it were quicker to play so I could get it to the table more often. As it is I wouldn't recommend it past 2p (with newbies) or 3p (if everyone is experienced). The downtime can be brutal.
77|**Pulsar 2849**|One of my first heavy boardgames of all time and still a staple in my collection. There's never been an expansion and it's never felt like it needed one.
76|**5 Nimmt**|This is a staple during family boardgame night with my gf's parents who don't play too many games. Simple, easy to understand and always fun.
75|**Cheating Moth**|
74|**Tang Garden**|Will the expansions ever get released!?
73|**Quest for El Dorado**|
72|**Capital Lux 2**|
71|**Robot Quest Arena**|
70|**Calico**|
69|**Railroad Ink Challenge**|The engineer dice are SO DAMN FUN.
68|**Twisted Fables**|Has a special place in my heart because I painted all of the minis :D
67|**Everdell**|Farshore has just moved in and we're still evaluating which version we like more. So far Everdell+expansions still seems to be our favorite version of Everdell.
66|**Silver**|
65|**Cockroach Poker**|
64|**Anachrony**|
63|**Meadow**|
62|**Merv**|Camels, camels, camels!
61|**My Gold Mine**|
60|**Empires of the Void**|I really like that you can't lose units in this game. Lost the battle? Oh well, let's just fuck off into the next sector then! For us less confrontational types that's a godsend :D Now I can attack people and not feel bad about it (that much)!
59|**Bloodborne the Card Game**|Not many of our friends like this one because it's 100% take-that and constantly dying, but we think it's hilarious :D
58|**Lunar Base**|
57|**Brew**|
56|**For Glory**|
55|**Call to Adventure**|Still waiting for the expansions to be translated...
54|**Core Connection**|
53|**Dale of Merchants**|We have all the expansions and use the app randomizer to create new deck variants.
52|**Pipeline**|I can't be entirely without euros and this is one of my favorites. I'm not sure why, maybe I just like oil and machines? Running a highly efficient pipeline is super satisfying, I tell ya what.
51|**Forest Shuffle**|
50|**12 Rivers**|An unknown game from a Taiwanese publisher, BGNations. It suffers from component quality issues, but the idea and execution are fantastic. The boardgame is sloped down and every round pearls are released and caught by player "gates" that block their path. Super unique game!
49|**Trails of Tucana**|
48|**Last Bastion**|We haven't won a single game yet lol.
47|**Kinghill**|Kinghill is chaotic and messy, clearly the designer's first game. Still, the game is excellent with plenty of replayability and I can't wait to play it again!
46|**Valeria Card Kingdoms**|
45|**Tribes of the Wind**|
44|**Crisis**|It's the semi-cooperative aspect that sells this game for me. Pressuring players to try and keep the city afloat is sooooooo good. We houserules that there can't be any winners if the city goes under. Yeah, it eliminates some strategy for the game, but it works for us.
43|**Whistle Mountain**|
42|**After the Empire**|Man, I keep getting ransacked in this game! Everyone is always upgrading to stone castles and I keep getting screwed over in my wooden hovel lol.
41|**Excavation Earth**|With the two expansions, although "It Belongs in a Museum!" does all the heavy lifting to make this game exceptional. Market Manipulation with beautiful art.
40|**Dungeons, Dice & Danger**|
39|**Dune Imperium**|
38|**Arctic Scavengers**|
37|**Cascadia**|
36|**Planet Unknown**|
35|**Cowboy Bebop: Space Serenade**|
34|**Euthia**|
33|**Shards of Infinity**|Ah, Hero Realms (and others). The format has gotten a little stale over the years, but Shards is fresh enough with some new ideas that it deserves to be in my top 100.
32|**It's a Wonderful World**|
31|**Seeders From Sereis: Exodus**|
30|**The Few and Cursed**|Horrible rulebook, great game.
29|**Disney Sorcerer's Arena**|The demo at the SPIEL convinced me. Even though my expectations weren't too high, this game completly blew up for us. The characters are varied and there is a surprising amount of depth to the game. It doesn't feel as if every character is perfectly balanced,- some team compositions certainly suffer from anti-synergies,- but the games are short and furious that switching it up isn't a problem!
28|**Guild of Merchant Explorers**|
27|**Tsukuyumi**|None of the expansions are required, and some factions like the whales are kinda... weird, but it all comes together to create extremely memorable games. What I really like is the idea of a neutral faction every player gets the opportunity to influence and control, allowing you to mess with another player's game plans without directly using your faction pawns.
26|**Argent the Consortium**|
25|**X-ODUS**|
24|**Neuroshima Hex! 3.0**|Our avorite factions are New York and the Beasts. Technically we liked the art of Monolith Arena more, but apparently it didn't sell well enough to continue producing expansions for.
23|**Solforge Fusion**|An evolution of keyforge. Algorithmically-generated half-decks. Choose two (of different factions), shuffle them together, and you're ready to play! So far every single play has been fun and you have greater replayability by being able to re-use purchased half-decks.
22|**Among the Stars**|An oldie but goldie! Just wish the game weren't so expensive in Germany, it's ridiculous.
21|**Fantasy Realms**|We removed the expansion from the game and prefer playing it vanilla.
20|**Waldami**|I won this game at the 2019 SPIEL! The game was never released in Europe so I can confidentally claim I'm like one of maybe two or three people who owns this game in all of Germany!
19|**Dice Kingdoms of Valeria**|
18|**Gosu X**|One of my newest card battlers and also one of the most unique ones! You build an Everdell-style 3x5 army of cards after drafting three faction decks. Shuffle them together and no game is the same! Looking forward to the first expansions.
17|**Shadow Kingdoms of Valeria**|A sleeper hit everyone needs to check out! What a fun dice placement and manipulation game.
16|**Vindication**|I prefer Vindication as a 2p (with Chronicles) or 3p game. I've started setting up the board with one or two static locations (i.e. already drawn from the bag) to help create more varied scenarios.
15|**Ascension Skulls & Sails**|Shoutout to the great, if no longer updated, Ascension app!
14|**Ascension Tactics**|
13|**Imperium: the Contention**|This game really delivers on the short-4X promise so many games have! Setup and teardown are pretty easy and the bluff mechanic is what makes this game so special to me.
12|**BattleCon**
11|**Exceed**|My favorite seasons are Seventh Cross and BlazBlue, although the design of Shovel Knight is superior to both.
10|**Champions of Midgard**|With all expansions!
9|**Gun and Gun**|A single-run Kickstarter and my biggest surprise hit. I'm so happy I participated in the Kickstarter and would recommend anyone that finds a copy to get it! A unique card battler where your decks are bullets for your guns.
8|**Bullet <3**|
7|**Millennium Blades**|If you couldn't tell, I love card games lol. Inevitably, Millennium Blades had to feature prominently on this list.
6|**Kamigami**|Has all the expansions thrown together and is affectionally called Megagami. This game sets itself apart from other deckbuilders through its innovative combo mechanic that gives the game a much greater staying power.
5|**Mystic Vale**|Has all the expansions thrown together and affectionately called MegaVale.
4|**Android: Netrunner**|If you know Netrunner, chances are it's in your top 10 too ;)
3|**Ashes: Rise of the Phoenixborn**|Although the new Aeon-style boss encounters were a dud, this is still one of the best card dueling games ever created. The dice add something so unique and new to the game I haven't seen emulated anywhere else.
2|**Final Fantasy TCG**|Compared to others, this isn't just fun, it's also one of the more affordable TCGs out there.
1|**Path of Light and Shadow**|The Solstice expansion is mandatory to elevate this game and turn it into something truly special. It's a deckbuilder with a strong area majority aspect, card upgrading and a "morality" track that influences how effective certain factions are.
