Which fiction books use the cyclical structure mostly found in memoirs?
I'm curious what fictional books use this structure. I think never let me go uses this in a way to reflect the unescapable nature of the world the characters live in and The Cider House Rules uses it to show the lineage and anscenstory of people and places and how experiences shapes our world view, such as if Homer didn't experience what he did, he would never have become the doctor he became.
What other fictional books utilize this structure in a way that adds to the story? Do you feel books that deal with themes of trauma are best in using this form, or are there other types of fiction where this form adds to the story? I don't remember house of leaves that well, but I think it may have used the form or is similar to it to add to the uncanny feeling of the liminal space bestowed on the reader. #entertainment
