Not qualified enough to be the manager — but qualified enough to train the manager?
An experienced employee applies for a management position.
The company rejects the application and hires someone from outside.
Then the same employee receives an official email asking them to train the new manager, explain the workflows, and show them how the company’s financial processes actually work.
Apparently, the employee has enough knowledge, responsibility, and practical experience to teach the manager how to do the job.
Just not enough to be given the title, authority, or salary.
**At what point does this stop being “career development” and become exploitation of institutional knowledge?**
