It is not surprising that almost all of these actors became household names in the world of cinema in the 1990s. Lawrence Tierney, one of the bad boys of Hollywood in the 1940s, is very effective with his regal presence as the criminal patriarch, while Chris Penn offers a great contrast as his neurotic son. Veteran actor Harvey Keitel (one of the favorite actors in Tarantino's films since Reservoir Dogs) gives a sublime performance as the loyal gangster.
