I just finished The Things They Carried, and what now?
I am shaking right now. I have never felt like this before and the closest I had to this was about The Catcher In The Rye.
All that complexity, the unexpected view on war, the horrible and heart wrenching things that happened, the rich and deep imagery and, I think that is what really made it for me, the thin line between Reality and Fiction. How we tell things to be felt, not to just tell them. There was also the relationship to the dead, >!especially with the last chapter The Lives of the Dead that left me absolutely crying.!<
For context, I read that book as it is part of my syllabus, and right after that I am hoping on The Handmaid's Tale. But I feel like a deep hole settled in my chest right and I don't know what to do to be honest. I am also supposed to reread it for the upcoming year but I don't know if I'll have the strength to touch it again. It was one of the only book that made me feel like reading wasn't a chore.
I would like to hear different interpretations of the book or just some part of it and even on how deeply it shook you too. #entertainment source
