Why we should abolish the UN veto instead of asking to join it
In one of her recent videos, Nathalie Yamb talked about African leaders asking for a permanent seat and veto power at the UN Security Council. She made an important point: which African country could actually represent the whole continent without creating more problems or following foreign interests?
More importantly, adding another permanent seat will not fix the United Nations. The veto system itself is unfair and outdated. Africa should not try to join a broken club. Instead, the focus should be on removing the veto power completely so that every country gets one equal vote.
