Just got rear ended today on my new fkn 2025 Yamaha R7, she didnt even have 500 miles on her man. The light just turned red, and I came to a stop behind the red pickup and out of nowhere, I got rearended by the black pickup causing me to hit the red pickup and threw me off the bike. Was able to walk away from it, though after getting 8 stitches in my leg it just fkn sucks.
Unfortunately, in the state of Georgia, lane splitting is illegal but would have saved me from this headache. At least let us go in between cars while waiting for a light, I dont care about doing it while moving but fuckkkk.
Update: Thank you for all the best wishes and messages, I'll respond to them as I can. In my title I said "lane splitting and not filtering and that was incorrect. Ive always thought they were the same thing, but after some research, they are definitely not lol, the word I met to use was filtering.
I was ruled not at fault for this obviously, and according to the police report the driver was "following too closely," which I believe is bs but I'm waiting to start the legal process now. The bike will most likely be totaled. #motorcycles source
